How you can Ride a Bike Properly

Riding your bike can become a great deal of fun, and it's a brilliant way to keep fit. However, bike riding has its hazards, specially when you're discussing the road with power-driven traffic. To keep safe, it is very important have a cycle in top condition and also to pay attention to some fundamental but very important bicycling requirements when sharing your ride with the general traffic.

Check your cycling equipment. Before you even set out there, it is important to ensure that your bicycle is roadworthy and safe. This is particularly important for aging bikes. Checking your cycle means considering the next:
Air -- are your tires inflated adequately?
Brake systems - do they work, are they clean?
Cycle - is it clean, free of debris, and able to turn with no problems?

Check the brake systems. Wheel your bike around a flat work surface, pulling the brake levers on and off. If they do not work, and you're not sure how to fix them, contact your local bike shop and inquire them to help.

Check the bike's tires. Put the whole tire into a tiny bowl of water. Observe if there are any bubbles coming out. When there are any pockets, it means your car tire is punctured and you may get it fixed by a bike shop or do it yourself. Repeat for the other tire.

See if the bike is the right height for you. This is very easy as all you need to do is sit on your bike and ensure that the tips of your toes touch the floor (and nothing else). Modify the bike seat as needed, and the grips too.
